DESCRIPTION:At 7pm PT on Thursday December 5\, 2024\, Elizabeth May\, MP for Saanich–Gulf Islands and Leader of the Green Party of Canada\, will attend and speak at the North Saanich Residents Association community meeting. Below is a full schedule for the meeting: \n\nNSRA Community Meeting – Two Guest Speakers\n\n\n\nThursday 7:00 p.m. December 5th at the Saanich Peninsula Presbyterian Church \nDan Oshanek – Bylaw Enforcement Officer for the District of North Saanich  \nDan will provide an overview of what residents should know about bylaw enforcement processes including: \n\nHow residents can submit requests for by-law enforcement.\nThe process by which complaints are addressed.\nThe most common by-law issues he addresses.\n\nIf you have questions you wish to ask Dan\, you can submit them to us by email no later than Monday December 2nd at 10:00 a.m. \nWe feel this approach will allow Dan to consider his responses in advance of the meeting and allow those of you who may be reluctant to speak at the meeting to have your questions considered. When you submit your query\, please do not include the specifics of the individuals or specific address of your concern. \nTime permitting\, we will also be accepting questions from the floor. \n\nElizabeth May – Leader of the Green Party of Canada and Member of Parliament representing the riding of Saanich Gulf Islands \nElizabeth’s presentation will include her thoughts on: \n\nHow to make the parliamentary system more collaborative in today’s political climate.\nHow to ensure that climate change and environmental issues remain at the top of the agenda for governments when the focus seems to be on affordability\, housing and crime.\nSome of the positive environmental initiatives she is seeing around the world.\n\nElizabeth will also entertain questions from NSRA members.
