{"id":10831,"date":"2013-10-23T14:29:11","date_gmt":"2013-10-23T18:29:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elizabethmaymp.ca?p=10831"},"modified":"2013-10-23T14:29:11","modified_gmt":"2013-10-23T18:29:11","slug":"october-24th-is-world-polio-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elizabethmaymp.ca\/fr\/october-24th-is-world-polio-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Le 24 octobre : Journ\u00e9e mondiale contre la polio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Le Parti vert du Canada souhaite souligner la Journ\u00e9e mondiale contre la polio, le 24 octobre 2013.   <\/p>\n<p>\u00ab La communaut\u00e9 internationale a une occasion unique d\u2019\u00e9radiquer cette maladie infantile, comme elle l\u2019a fait avec la variole. \u00c9crivons l\u2019histoire une autre fois en faisant en sorte que le vaccin contre cette maladie soit administr\u00e9 \u00e0 tous les enfants, partout dans le monde \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 la chef du Parti vert du Canada et d\u00e9put\u00e9e de Saanich-Gulf Islands, Mme Elizabeth May.<\/p>\n<p>La Journ\u00e9e mondiale contre la polio avait \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9e par l\u2019organisme Rotary International voil\u00e0 plus de dix ans pour comm\u00e9morer la naissance de Jonas Salk, qui a dirig\u00e9 la premi\u00e8re \u00e9quipe qui a con\u00e7u un vaccin contre la poliomy\u00e9lite. L\u2019utilisation de ce vaccin inactiv\u00e9 contre la poliomy\u00e9lite et l\u2019utilisation \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle par la suite du vaccin antipoliomy\u00e9litique oral, mis au point par Albert Sabin, ont men\u00e9 \u00e0 la mise en place de l\u2019Initiative mondiale pour l\u2019\u00e9radication de la poliomy\u00e9lite en 1998. Depuis, l\u2019Initiative a permis de r\u00e9duire les cas de poliomy\u00e9lite \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle plan\u00e9taire de 99 %.<\/p>\n<p>En 2012, cependant, la transmission du poliovirus sauvage s\u2019est poursuivie dans trois pays : le Nigeria, l\u2019Afghanistan et le Pakistan. En avril 2012, l\u2019Assembl\u00e9e mondiale de la sant\u00e9 a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que l\u2019ach\u00e8vement de l\u2019\u00e9radication de la polio \u00e9tait une urgence programmatique pour la sant\u00e9 publique mondiale.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Le Rotary International, conjointement avec la Fondation Bill et Melinda Gates, a dirig\u00e9 une campagne pour \u00e9radiquer la poliomy\u00e9lite. Cette campagne mondiale a entra\u00een\u00e9 la participation de milliers de membres canadiens du Rotary; \u00e0 titre de membre du Rotary, je les f\u00e9licite pour tous leurs efforts,\u00bb dit
