Au cours de la derni\u00e8re semaine, des milliers de livres et de documents scientifiques de grande valeur, dont certains datant du 19e si\u00e8cle, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 envoy\u00e9s au rebut.<\/p>\n<p>Le Parti vert du Canada d\u00e9nonce cette destruction inconsid\u00e9r\u00e9e de ressources scientifiques. \u00ab Les conservateurs s\u2019en prennent maintenant aux biblioth\u00e8ques, une d\u00e9cision qui cadre bien, malheureusement, avec leur politique de museler les scientifiques \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Elizabeth May, chef du Parti vert du Canada et d\u00e9put\u00e9e de Saanich\u2013Gulf Islands. \u00ab Ce gouvernement semble saccager volontairement notre capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 prendre de bonnes d\u00e9cisions en limitant notre acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des preuves et des donn\u00e9es scientifiques. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Environ 40 000 documents de l\u2019ancienne Biblioth\u00e8que Eric Marshall sur la recherche en milieu aquatique, qui \u00e9tait situ\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Manitoba, sont actuellement d\u00e9m\u00e9nag\u00e9s dans une biblioth\u00e8que f\u00e9d\u00e9rale dans la circonscription de la chef du Parti vert. \u00ab Certains documents en provenance du Manitoba ne seront pas d\u00e9truits, mais il est impossible de dire combien de ces documents sont perdus \u00bb, a d\u00e9plor\u00e9 Mme May.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab La destruction de ces documents fait h\u00e9las partie d\u2019une destruction syst\u00e9matique des ressources scientifiques sur les p\u00eaches et les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes marins \u00bb, a expliqu\u00e9 Janice Harvey, porte-parole du Parti vert en mati\u00e8re de p\u00eaches. \u00ab La Station biologique de St. Andrews, le plus ancien centre de recherche f\u00e9d\u00e9ral au Canada, a subi le m\u00eame sort l\u2019an dernier. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>En plus d\u2019une biblioth\u00e8que \u00e0 la fine pointe de la technologie qui contenait des milliers de documents scientifiques, la Station biologique de St. Andrews a perdu son unit\u00e9 de recherche en \u00e9cotoxicologie. Les chercheurs de cette unit\u00e9 \u00e9taient parmi les plus avanc\u00e9s au monde dans la compr\u00e9hension des effets sur l\u2019\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me de produits chimiques toxiques utilis\u00e9s dans l\u2019\u00e9levage du saumon dans la baie de Fundy.<\/p>\n<p>Jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce jour, le gouvernement Harper a ferm\u00e9 ou regroup\u00e9 douze autres r\u00e9seaux de biblioth\u00e8ques qui servaient \u00e0 de nombreux minist\u00e8res, dont ceux des Ressources naturelles et de Parcs Canada.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Le d\u00e9mant\u00e8lement du r\u00e9seau des biblioth\u00e8ques de P\u00eaches et Oc\u00e9ans Canada vient de prendre un tour dramatique.
