Elle se demande cependant comment cela aidera \u00e0 contrer les d\u00e9versements p\u00e9troliers.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abNous avons, certes, la capacit\u00e9 de d\u00e9tecter les d\u00e9versements de p\u00e9trole du haut des airs, mais nous n\u2019avons pas les moyens d\u2019y rem\u00e9dier. Les six bureaux r\u00e9gionaux d\u2019Environnement Canada situ\u00e9s le long de nos c\u00f4tes qui g\u00e9raient le Programme des interventions d&#8217;urgence ont \u00e9t\u00e9 ferm\u00e9s en 2012 pour \u00eatre remplac\u00e9s par un num\u00e9ro sans frais qui est achemin\u00e9 au Qu\u00e9bec. Nous n\u2019avons donc aucun moyen de nettoyer les d\u00e9versements, surtout les d\u00e9versements de bitume dilu\u00e9 dont les effets sont encore m\u00e9connus en milieu marin. Depuis le d\u00e9versement qui a eu lieu \u00e0 Kalamazoo dans l\u2019\u00c9tat du Michigan, nous avons appris que le bitume dilu\u00e9 est beaucoup plus difficile \u00e0 nettoyer que le p\u00e9trole brut.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth May note, de plus, que le rapport final de Scott Vaughn, commissaire sortant \u00e0 l&#8217;environnement et au d\u00e9veloppement durable qui rel\u00e8ve du Bureau du v\u00e9rificateur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, soulignait l\u2019an dernier \u00e0 quel point le Canada n\u2019\u00e9tait pas pr\u00e9par\u00e9 \u00e0 faire face \u00e0 un d\u00e9versement p\u00e9trolier d\u2019importance.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abL\u2019approche du gouvernement Harper par rapport \u00e0 la pr\u00e9paration n\u00e9cessaire pour les d\u00e9versements p\u00e9troliers se r\u00e9sume \u00e0 quelques communiqu\u00e9s de presse et \u00e0 la d\u00e9claration selon laquelle nos lois sont renforc\u00e9es.
