Premi\u00e8rement, les 20 millions de dollars consacr\u00e9s \u00e0 un programme de sortie du milieu sont insuffisants. Deuxi\u00e8mement, tous les t\u00e9moins ayant une formation de juriste, \u00e0 l&#8217;exception du ministre de la Justice et de ses employ\u00e9s, estiment qu&#8217;une partie ou l&#8217;ensemble du projet de loi est inconstitutionnel. Troisi\u00e8mement, les travailleurs et travailleuses du sexe ne doivent pas \u00eatre criminalis\u00e9s. La meilleure recommandation que nous avons entendue pendant les audiences est probablement que les personnes qui tra\u00eenent un casier judiciaire en cons\u00e9quence d&#8217;une telle loi inconstitutionnelle devraient b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier d&#8217;une immunit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Que pense la d\u00e9put\u00e9e de cette derni\u00e8re recommandation, qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 rejet\u00e9e par les conservateurs? Par ailleurs, pourrait-elle nous dire ce qu&#8217;elle pense de l&#8217;ostracisme dont seraient victimes les personnes qui tra\u00eeneraient un casier judiciaire parce qu&#8217;elles travaillent dans l&#8217;industrie du sexe?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Elizabeth May : <\/strong>Monsieur le Pr\u00e9sident, je tiens tout d&#8217;abord \u00e0 f\u00e9liciter le d\u00e9put\u00e9 de Charlottetown, qui a fait le meilleur discours \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9tape de la deuxi\u00e8me lecture du projet de loi lorsqu&#8217;il a compar\u00e9 le droit canadien et le droit russe en mati\u00e8re de prostitution.<\/p>\n<p>Je suis d&#8217;accord avec le d\u00e9put\u00e9: il faut envisager d&#8217;accorder l&#8217;immunit\u00e9 si la loi est inconstitutionnelle. Peu importe nos opinions personnelles, qu&#8217;elles soient fond\u00e9es sur notre religion ou sur notre conception de la morale, il faut tenir compte du fait que des gens risquent leur vie.
