Cependant, je souhaite poser une question \u00e0 ma coll\u00e8gue de Toronto-Centre parce qu&#8217;elle a fait des observations tr\u00e8s importantes \u00e0 propos de la balance commerciale lorsqu&#8217;elle a parl\u00e9 de la situation des exportateurs canadiens.<\/p>\n<p>Je me demande ce que le Parti lib\u00e9ral pense du fait que le Canada exporte maintenant plus de mati\u00e8res premi\u00e8res et moins de produits manufactur\u00e9s \u00e0 valeur ajout\u00e9e. Je crois personnellement que nous avons nui \u00e0 notre productivit\u00e9 en agissant ainsi parce que nous savons que le secteur manufacturier offre de bien meilleures perspectives d&#8217;innovation, de recherche et de d\u00e9veloppement que celui des mati\u00e8res premi\u00e8res.<\/p>\n<p>La d\u00e9put\u00e9e pourrait-elle dire si, \u00e0 son avis, notre \u00e9conomie serait plus saine si nous exportions davantage de produits \u00e0 valeur ajout\u00e9e?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chrystia Freeland : <\/strong>Monsieur le Pr\u00e9sident, je suis tout \u00e0 fait d&#8217;accord avec la d\u00e9put\u00e9e de Saanich\u2014Gulf Islands. Si le milieu des affaires, entre autres, juge que le rendement du Canada sur le plan des exportations est \u00e0 la baisse, c&#8217;est en partie \u00e0 cause de la balance commerciale. Je mentionne ce point car j&#8217;estime qu&#8217;il est tr\u00e8s important.<\/p>\n<p>Le Canada est un grand producteur de mati\u00e8res premi\u00e8res, il ne faut pas s&#8217;en cacher. C&#8217;est une bonne chose, tant qu&#8217;il ne s&#8217;agit pas du seul pilier de notre \u00e9conomie, surtout \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 que le prix \u00e9lev\u00e9 des mati\u00e8res premi\u00e8res, qui devra bien redescendre t\u00f4t ou tard, donne un bon coup de pouce \u00e0 notre rendement \u00e9conomique.<\/p>\n<p>Si on veut que l&#8217;\u00e9conomie canadienne soit plus solide et r\u00e9solument ax\u00e9e sur les exportations, il faut en faire davantage pour nous assurer que les exportations \u00e0 valeur ajout\u00e9e, ainsi que les fabricants \u00e0 valeur \u00e9lev\u00e9e, soient de la partie.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Elizabeth May : Monsieur le Pr\u00e9sident, je m&#8217;\u00e9carte un peu du sujet de l&#8217;accord entre le Canada et la Cor\u00e9e du Sud.
