Le Parti vert soutiendra un \u00e9largissement du syst\u00e8me canadien actuel de comptes nationaux pour y inclure des mesures des changements annuels, de la d\u00e9perdition et de l’accroissement des ressources biologiques principales du Canada. Les poissons sauvages, les for\u00eats naturelles et les terres agricoles productives font partie des v\u00e9ritables richesses d’un pays. La d\u00e9perdition ou l’accroissement du nombre de poissons, d’arbres et de superficies terrestres doivent faire partie des mesures de la richesse du Canada.<\/p>\n

\n

Une analyse rigoureuse des co\u00fbts, des valeurs et des b\u00e9n\u00e9fices \u00e9conomiques des fonctions \u00e9cologiques cl\u00e9s doit \u00eatre entreprise. Ces donn\u00e9es permettront de formuler des politiques plus adapt\u00e9es et des d\u00e9clarations plus compl\u00e8tes de la v\u00e9ritable valeur \u00e9conomique de la biodiversit\u00e9 dans son ensemble.<\/p>\n

Les mesures purement \u00e9conomiques comme le PIB ne tiennent pas compte de facteurs cl\u00e9s qui sous-tendent le bien-\u00eatre. La mise en \u0153uvre d’une m\u00e9thode d’\u00e9valuation mesurant les caract\u00e9ristiques sociales, environnementales et \u00e9conomiques \u00e0 long terme de diverses r\u00e9gions de notre pays et de diverses collectivit\u00e9s locales apportera une perspective nouvelle et g\u00e9n\u00e9rera une nouvelle d\u00e9marche pour la pr\u00e9servation de la biodiversit\u00e9 locale et r\u00e9gionale. Ces outils joueront un r\u00f4le majeur dans la sensibilisation de nos concitoyens aux atouts d’une forte biodiversit\u00e9, et nous permettront de r\u00e9aliser les objectifs de la Convention sur la diversit\u00e9 biologique.<\/p>\n

Le Parti vert continuera \u00e0 soutenir les m\u00e9thodes d’\u00e9valuation de la qualit\u00e9 de la vie telles que l’indicateur de progr\u00e8s r\u00e9el (IPR) comme outil d’am\u00e9lioration de la qualit\u00e9 de la vie et de protection de la biodiversit\u00e9. Le Parti vert soutiendra aussi la recherche sur les caract\u00e9ristiques \u00e9conomiques de la protection de la biodiversit\u00e9, et le d\u00e9veloppement de m\u00e9canismes fiscaux destin\u00e9s \u00e0 limiter les effets d\u00e9l\u00e9t\u00e8res des activit\u00e9s humaines sur l’\u00e9cosph\u00e8re. L’\u00e9limination de la plus-value sur les dons de terrains d’importance \u00e9cologique et des taxes sur l’utilisation des terres plus ad\u00e9quates est une mesure cl\u00e9 pour limiter la pression de la demande de biens et services sur la biodiversit\u00e9 (voir la Premi\u00e8re partie : une \u00e9conomie verte<\/a>).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
