Je reconnais que les entreprises canadiennes qui font des affaires en Chine verront leur situation s&#8217;am\u00e9liorer consid\u00e9rablement. Toutefois, les d\u00e9cisions prises dans l&#8217;int\u00e9r\u00eat public du Canada par des municipalit\u00e9s, des provinces et le gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral pourraient \u00eatre contest\u00e9es par la Chine si elle estime qu&#8217;elles sont arbitraires.<\/p>\n<p>C&#8217;est pourquoi, aujourd&#8217;hui, la ville de Port Alberni a \u00e9crit au premier ministre pour lui demander de faire marche arri\u00e8re dans ce dossier. Le premier ministre entend r\u00e9clamer aux provinces des millions de dollars qui ne devraient jamais faire l&#8217;objet de revendications de la part d&#8217;entreprises qui appartiennent \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00c9tat chinois.<\/p>\n<p><strong>L&#8217;hon. Peter Van Loan<\/strong> : Monsieur le Pr\u00e9sident, en citant le premier ministre, la chef du Parti vert fait allusion \u00e0 des commentaires qui portent sur des enjeux touchant l&#8217;Organisation mondiale du commerce, et non l&#8217;accord sur la protection des investissements \u00e9trangers dont il est question ici. Depuis des ann\u00e9es, les Chinois qui investissent au Canada peuvent b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier de la r\u00e8gle de droit en vigueur dans notre pays. Dor\u00e9navant, les Canadiens pourront enfin voir leurs investissements \u00eatre prot\u00e9g\u00e9s gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 cet accord.
