Elizabeth\u00a0May : <\/strong>Monsieur le Pr\u00e9sident, j’ai \u00e9cout\u00e9 le discours de la d\u00e9put\u00e9e. J’ai \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tonn\u00e9e d’apprendre que l’on affectait encore plus d’argent dans le budget au gouffre sans fond qu’est \u00c9nergie atomique du Canada limit\u00e9e. Cette organisation a re\u00e7u des dizaines de milliards de dollars. Je pensais qu’on allait arr\u00eater de la subventionner lorsqu’on s’en est d\u00e9barrass\u00e9.<\/p>\n

La d\u00e9put\u00e9e a parl\u00e9 de James Hansen, \u00e9minent sp\u00e9cialiste du climat qui encourage maintenant les environnementalistes \u00e0 souscrire \u00e0 l’\u00e9nergie nucl\u00e9aire.<\/p>\n

S’il les encourage ainsi, c’est parce qu’il craint qu’on ne fasse rien pour lutter contre la crise climatique. Il dit que la mise en valeur continue des sables bitumineux portera le coup fatal au climat et qu’il s’int\u00e9resserait seulement \u00e0 la position du Canada sur l’\u00e9nergie nucl\u00e9aire si nous avions une politique sur le climat.<\/p>\n

Nous sommes arriv\u00e9s au point o\u00f9, selon Environnement Canada, nous allons compl\u00e8tement rater la cible fix\u00e9e par le premier ministre en 2009 \u00e0 Copenhague. Nous \u00e9tions cens\u00e9s faire passer nos \u00e9missions de 737 m\u00e9gatonnes \u00e0 609 m\u00e9gatonnes. Et pourtant, \u00e0 la date limite de 2020, nos \u00e9missions seront \u00e0 734 m\u00e9gatonnes, ce qui repr\u00e9sente une pi\u00e8tre r\u00e9duction de 3 m\u00e9gatonnes.<\/p>\n

La d\u00e9put\u00e9e ne trouve-t-elle pas qu’il est un peu fort pour les d\u00e9put\u00e9s conservateurs d’invoquer James Hansen \u00e0 l’\u00e9gard de certaines questions tout en refusant m\u00e9thodiquement de tenir compte de ses conseils dans d’autres dossiers?<\/p>\n

Cheryl Gallant : <\/strong>Monsieur le Pr\u00e9sident, le gouvernement a \u00e9tabli des objectifs concrets en mati\u00e8re de r\u00e9duction de la pollution, qui permettront d’am\u00e9liorer la qualit\u00e9 de l’air.<\/p>\n

Les environnementalistes qui ont vraiment \u00e0 coeur la qualit\u00e9 de l’air, de l’eau et des sols canadiens reconnaissent que le nucl\u00e9aire est une forme d’\u00e9nergie propre, durable et avantageuse sur le plan \u00e9conomique, comparativement aux \u00e9oliennes et aux cellules solaires, qui co\u00fbtent tr\u00e8s cher \u00e0 fabriquer. La fabrication de ces produits entra\u00eene des \u00e9missions beaucoup plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es que celles provenant de la construction d’une centrale nucl\u00e9aire.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
