(OTTAWA) Le 26 janvier 2016 <\/strong>\u2013 \u00ab\u2009Le jugement d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui rendu par le Tribunal canadien des droits de la personne r\u00e9it\u00e8re ce que quiconque a suivi la situation sait depuis des ann\u00e9es\u00a0: Ottawa a fait preuve de discrimination envers les enfants des r\u00e9serves des premi\u00e8res nations. Allant de mod\u00e8les de financement nettement insuffisants et mal cibl\u00e9s \u00e0 un syst\u00e8me qui a encourag\u00e9 le retrait des enfants de leur famille, le Tribunal a jug\u00e9 qu\u2019il y avait des \u201cpreuves suffisantes pour \u00e9tablir un cas apparent de discrimination\u201d.<\/p>\n

Je f\u00e9licite Cindy Blackstock pour son insistance h\u00e9ro\u00efque \u00e0 faire \u00e9voluer ce cas contre un gouvernement conservateur qui n\u2019a rien fait d\u2019autre que de s\u2019opposer, en d\u00e9pensant 5,3 M$ pour nier qu\u2019il y avait de la discrimination contre les enfants des premi\u00e8res nations, en exer\u00e7ant m\u00eame des repr\u00e9sailles contre Mme Blackstock personnellement.<\/p>\n

Je garde espoir que le nouveau gouvernement va ex\u00e9cuter rapidement le jugement pour \u201cprendre des mesures visant \u00e0 mettre imm\u00e9diatement en \u0153uvre le sens et la port\u00e9e du principe de Jordan<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Les enfants des premi\u00e8res nations continuent de souffrir depuis des g\u00e9n\u00e9rations de discrimination d\u00e9lib\u00e9r\u00e9e et inconsid\u00e9r\u00e9e de la part des gouvernements successifs. Je m\u2019engage \u00e0 collaborer avec le gouvernement et les premi\u00e8res nations pour mettre fin \u00e0 cette discrimination affreuse et amorcer la marche vers la r\u00e9conciliation.\u2009\u00bb<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
