Le Parti vert, les gouvernements provinciaux et plusieurs Premi\u00e8res nations demeurent oppos\u00e9s \u00e0 \u00c9nergie Est pour des raisons environnementales, mais la rentabilit\u00e9 du pipeline est incertaine et les pr\u00e9tentions \u00e9conomiques n\u2019ont aucun sens.\u2009\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Le Canada et plus de 190 nations sont maintenant engag\u00e9s par l\u2019Accord de Paris, un accord sur le climat qui entra\u00eenera une baisse de la consommation des carburants fossiles \u00e0 mesure que l\u2019investissement dans les technologies propres augmentera, d\u00e9clare Gord Miller, porte-parole du Parti vert en mati\u00e8re d\u2019infrastructures et de collectivit\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u2009Pr\u00e8s des trois quarts des r\u00e9serves mondiales de p\u00e9trole sont d\u00e9j\u00e0 reconnus comme \u00e9tant \u201cnon exploitables\u201d en vertu des cibles climatiques, d\u00e9clare M. Les Saoudiens et autres nations de l\u2019OPEP ont signal\u00e9 que s\u2019il faut que des r\u00e9serves de p\u00e9trole restent dans le sol pour prot\u00e9ger le climat, ce ne sera pas leur p\u00e9trole. Le bitume de l\u2019ouest du Canada n\u2019est pas concurrentiel par rapport au faible co\u00fbt de production du p\u00e9trole de ces pays.<\/p>\n<p>Si le secteur priv\u00e9 d\u00e9sire ce projet si fortement, il doit en assumer tous les risques financiers : \u00e0 court et \u00e0 long terme\u2009\u00bb, conclut M. Miller.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel Green, chef adjoint du Parti vert, d\u00e9clare que l\u2019ol\u00e9oduc \u00c9nergie Est n\u2019apporte aucun avantage au Qu\u00e9bec, mais qu\u2019il fera plut\u00f4t augmenter les risques de d\u00e9versements d\u2019hydrocarbures dans plus de 800 cours d\u2019eau travers\u00e9s par le pipeline, et entra\u00eenera des pertes consid\u00e9rables de terres agricoles et de for\u00eats.<\/p>\n<p>Et ne vous laissez pas berner : le pipeline \u00c9nergie Est ne r\u00e9duira pas le transport de p\u00e9trole par train au Qu\u00e9bec. Les plans d\u2019expansion de l\u2019extraction d\u2019hydrocarbures dans l\u2019ouest du Canada fera que les trains de p\u00e9trole au Qu\u00e9bec continueront de rouler tout autant.\u2009\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019ol\u00e9oduc \u00c9nergie Est transporterait du bitume dilu\u00e9 extrait des sables bitumineux de l\u2019Alberta et du dangereux p\u00e9trole de Bakken vers les march\u00e9s canadiens de l\u2019Est par un ol\u00e9oduc et terminal d\u2019exportation \u00e9valu\u00e9 \u00e0 pr\u00e8s de 15 G$ qui commence \u00e0 Hardisty, en Alberta et se termine \u00e0 Saint-Jean, Nouveau-Brunswick. L\u2019ol\u00e9oduc aurait une capacit\u00e9 de 1,1 million de barils par jour et il devrait entrer en fonction en 2018.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Ottawa) 9 mars 2016 &#8211;
