Ici m\u00eame, il y a une semaine, lors d&#8217;une p\u00e9riode de questions, j&#8217;ai cit\u00e9 les tout derniers relev\u00e9s de concentrations de CO2 dans l&#8217;atmosph\u00e8re de la plan\u00e8te, soit 417 parties par million, ce que la Terre n&#8217;a pas connu en plusieurs si\u00e8cles, pire, depuis un million d\u2019ann\u00e9es. Or, selon une nouvelle \u00e9tude parue depuis dans Science News, \u00e9tude qui s\u2019appuie sur la pal\u00e9oclimatologie, la Terre n&#8217;a pas connu de telles concentrations en 23 millions d\u2019ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>En d\u2019autres termes, les voyants rouges du tableau de bord de la survie humaine clignotent de plus en plus vite pour signaler l\u2019urgence climatique qui est beaucoup plus effrayante que l\u2019urgence de la COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>Quand le gouvernement respectera-t-il les engagements pris dans l\u2019 Accord de Paris, soit d\u2019\u00e9tablir une nouvelle cible r\u00e9vis\u00e9e et plus ambitieuse d\u2019ici 2020, comme l\u2019exige l\u2019 Accord de Paris?<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019hon. Jonathan Wilkinson (North Vancouver)<br \/>\n2020-06-04 14:03<\/p>\n<p>Monsieur le pr\u00e9sident, le gouvernement est tout \u00e0 fait d&#8217; accord avec la d\u00e9put\u00e9e pour dire qu\u2019il s\u2019agit d\u2019une crise. C\u2019est une crise qui \u00e9volue peut-\u00eatre plus lentement que celle de la COVID-19, mais c\u2019est une crise dont les effets seront d\u00e9vastateurs si nous n\u2019agissons pas, tant au Canada qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle mondiale.<\/p>\n<p>Le gouvernement s\u2019est engag\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00e9laborer un plan qui nous permettra d\u2019atteindre et m\u00eame de d\u00e9passer les cibles de 2030 fix\u00e9es dans l\u2019 Accord de Paris. C&#8217;est l&#8217;engagement que nous avons pris. Nous allons bien s\u00fbr continuer de travailler en ce sens avant la prochaine COP. Nous nous sommes \u00e9galement engag\u00e9s \u00e0 atteindre l\u2019objectif de consommation \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique nette z\u00e9ro d\u2019ici 2050, ce que la science nous dit que nous devons faire.
