Il y a quelques minutes, j&#8217;ai lu dans les nouvelles qu&#8217;une enqu\u00eate avait \u00e9t\u00e9 lanc\u00e9e et qu&#8217;une infirmi\u00e8re avait \u00e9t\u00e9 cong\u00e9di\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Le probl\u00e8me du racisme existe aussi dans notre syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 publique en Colombie-Britannique. Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafond, une femme autochtone et avocate tr\u00e8s bien connue, a maintenant la charge d&#8217;une enqu\u00eate qui porte sur le m\u00eame sujet, mais dont les circonstances ne sont pas aussi affreuses que celles mentionn\u00e9es par ma coll\u00e8gue.<\/p>\n<p>Que pouvons-nous faire pour \u00e9liminer le racisme dans nos soci\u00e9t\u00e9s, selon ma coll\u00e8gue? Je suis contente qu&#8217;elle ait abord\u00e9 ce sujet-l\u00e0.<br \/>\nJe reviens \u00e0 ce que je disais tout \u00e0 l&#8217;heure. La prorogation a eu plusieurs effets n\u00e9gatifs. J&#8217;ai eu la chance de si\u00e9ger au Comit\u00e9 permanent de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 publique et nationale o\u00f9 on \u00e9tudiait le racisme syst\u00e9mique dans les services policiers du Canada. Oui, le racisme est pr\u00e9sent dans le syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9, dans les services policiers et \u00e0 une multitude d&#8217;autres endroits.<\/p>\n<p>Il y en a eu des rapports qui faisaient \u00e9tat du racisme syst\u00e9mique. Tout le monde le reconna\u00eet. Nous \u00e9tions rendus \u00e0 produire un autre rapport, mais le Parlement a \u00e9t\u00e9 prorog\u00e9 et il n&#8217;y a donc plus de comit\u00e9. Le gouvernement doit agir. Il sait quoi faire. Les demandes des groupes sont les m\u00eames.
