Presque 20 ans se sont \u00e9coul\u00e9s depuis que John Crosbie, alors ministre f\u00e9d\u00e9ral des P\u00eaches et des Oc\u00e9ans, a impos\u00e9 un moratoire sur la p\u00eache de la morue du Nord au large des c\u00f4tes du Nord-Est de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador. Nous sommes 19 ans et 4 mois plus tard, et le secteur des p\u00eaches commerciales du poisson de fond de Terre-Neuve et du Labrador ont vu peu de progr\u00e8s, voire aucun. La plupart des p\u00eaches sont dans un piteux \u00e9tat.<\/p>\n<p>En 1954, cinq ans apr\u00e8s l&#8217;entr\u00e9e de Terre-Neuve dans la Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration, nous avons remis nos p\u00eaches entre les mains du gouvernement du Canada. Je consid\u00e8re nos p\u00eaches comme l&#8217;un des plus grands \u00e9checs de la Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration. C&#8217;est une honte nationale.
