Alex Atamanenko:<\/strong>Monsieur le Pr\u00e9sident, je suis ravi de pr\u00e9senter mon projet de loi constituant le minist\u00e8re de la Paix, afin de faire progresser la cause pacifiste au Canada et dans le monde entier.<\/p>\n

L’id\u00e9e que le monde puisse vivre en paix peut sembler un peu utopique, mais il incombe \u00e0 chaque g\u00e9n\u00e9ration, au nom de la prochaine, de faire tout en son pouvoir pour s’en rapprocher le plus possible.<\/p>\n

Je tiens \u00e0 rendre hommage \u00e0 mon ancien coll\u00e8gue, Bill Siksay, qui a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 le projet de loi au cours de la derni\u00e8re l\u00e9gislature. En v\u00e9rit\u00e9, il \u00e9tait et il demeure une source d’inspiration pour chacun d’entre nous.<\/p>\n

Je veux aussi remercier la chef du Parti vert et le d\u00e9put\u00e9 lib\u00e9ral de Scarborough\u2014Agincourt d’avoir appuy\u00e9 ce projet de loi, ainsi que d’autres d\u00e9put\u00e9s et coll\u00e8gues du NPD.<\/p>\n

Je remercie par ailleurs de son excellent travail l’\u00e9quipe de la Canadian Department of Peace Initiative, dont certains repr\u00e9sentants sont aujourd’hui pr\u00e9sents. J’adresse des remerciements tout particuliers \u00e0 Bill Bhaneja, cofondateur de la CDPI, \u00e0 Theresa Dunn, copr\u00e9sidente de la CDPI, \u00e0 Koozma Tarasoff, auteur et historien doukhobor et d\u00e9fenseur de longue date de la paix, ainsi qu’\u00e0 Laura Savinkoff, de la Boundary Peace Initiative, \u00e0 Grand Forks, pour ne nommer que ceux-l\u00e0.<\/p>\n

Il s’agit d’un dossier fondamentalement non partisan. J’exhorte tous mes coll\u00e8gues, des deux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de la Chambre, \u00e0 appuyer comme nous cette initiative majeure. Donnons une chance \u00e0 la paix.<\/p>\n
