Mercredi, Elizabeth May a rendu hommage au regrett\u00e9 Bill Blaikie<\/a><\/u>, n\u00e9o-d\u00e9mocrate manitobain depuis longtemps dont la carri\u00e8re politique s\u2018est \u00e9tendue sur plus de trois d\u00e9cennies, et qu\u2018Elizabeth appelle son ami depuis plus de 35 ans.<\/p>\n

Jeudi, Elizabeth et le chef int\u00e9rimaire Amita Kuttner ont tenu une conf\u00e9rence de presse<\/a><\/u> avant la pluie pr\u00e9vue en Colombie-Britannique. \u00ab Apr\u00e8s des mois sans pluie et des temp\u00e9ratures records, les pluies pr\u00e9vues cette fin de semaine pourraient causer des inondations \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Amita Kuttner, de North Vancouver. La province de la Colombie-Britannique n\u2018\u00e9tait pas pr\u00e9par\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2018arriv\u00e9e du d\u00f4me de chaleur en 2021; elle devrait se pr\u00e9parer \u00e0 un risque \u00e9ventuel d\u2018inondation pour la deuxi\u00e8me ann\u00e9e cons\u00e9cutive. La prestation canadienne pour les personnes handicap\u00e9es<\/h3>\n

Lundi, Mike a parrain\u00e9 une r\u00e9ception avec le mouvement Le handicap sans pauvret\u00e9 au sujet du projet de loi C-22, la Loi sur la prestation canadienne pour les personnes handicap\u00e9es. L\u2018honorable Carla Qualtrough, ministre de l\u2018Emploi, du D\u00e9veloppement de la main-d\u2018\u0153uvre et de l\u2018Inclusion des personnes handicap\u00e9es, y participait et elle a remerci\u00e9 Mike pour son travail de d\u00e9fenseur des droits des personnes handicap\u00e9es. Des repr\u00e9sentants du milieu ont parl\u00e9 de leurs efforts pour amener le gouvernement \u00e0 accorder la priorit\u00e9 au projet de loi. Il faisait l\u2018objet d\u2018un d\u00e9bat \u00e0 la Chambre pendant la r\u00e9ception et on a annonc\u00e9 au cours de celle-ci qu\u2018il avait \u00e9t\u00e9 convenu de mettre fin au d\u00e9bat pour passer au vote le lendemain. Mardi, le projet de loi C-22 \u00e9t\u00e9 renvoy\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2018unanimit\u00e9 au comit\u00e9. C\u2018est une grande victoire pour les personnes handicap\u00e9es au Canada.<\/p>\n
