Il pourra constater qu&#8217;on n&#8217;y trouve pas que des grandes villes et que bien des habitants de l&#8217;endroit s&#8217;adonnent \u00e0 la chasse. Je suis certaine qu&#8217;il passerait un bon moment s&#8217;il venait nous voir.<\/p>\n<p>Mais en attendant, a-t-il remarqu\u00e9 qu&#8217;on a utilis\u00e9 le registre des armes d&#8217;\u00e9paule lors d&#8217;un autre incident r\u00e9cent? J&#8217;ai parl\u00e9 dans ma r\u00e9ponse au d\u00e9put\u00e9 d&#8217;Esquimalt\u2014Juan de Fuca du fait que le registre a \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9 cette semaine pour r\u00e9soudre un crime \u00e0 Saanich. La police s&#8217;est aussi servie du registre il y a seulement 11 jours pour r\u00e9soudre un autre crime dans la r\u00e9gion de Sudbury.<\/p>\n<p>En d\u00e9pit des t\u00e9moignages de certaines personnes ici et l\u00e0, dont les conservateurs ont fait grand cas, le registre des armes d&#8217;\u00e9paule s&#8217;av\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement utile pour r\u00e9soudre des crimes, selon les services policiers et en particulier l&#8217;Association canadienne des chefs de police. C&#8217;est aussi ce que confirment ces incidents r\u00e9cents. Vers quoi se tournera la police une fois le registre aboli?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brian Jean :<\/strong> Monsieur le Pr\u00e9sident, qu&#8217;en est-il des policiers? Ce serait bien si la d\u00e9put\u00e9e du Parti vert et les d\u00e9put\u00e9s n\u00e9o-d\u00e9mocrates appuyaient le gouvernement quand nous investissons de l&#8217;argent dans les policiers de premi\u00e8re ligne, puisque ce sont eux qui r\u00e9solvent les crimes.<\/p>\n<p>Il est ridicule de dire qu&#8217;un syst\u00e8me informatique utilis\u00e9 par certains es policiers sera toujours exact ou qu&#8217;il gardera les policiers ou les Canadiens en s\u00e9curit\u00e9. Il n&#8217;est pas tenu \u00e0 jour. Il est impossible de retrouver la trace des armes \u00e0 feu.<\/p>\n<p>On a beau lancer des chiffres en l&#8217;air pour tenter de prouver l&#8217;utilit\u00e9 du registre, son efficacit\u00e9 ne vaut pas deux milliards de dollars. Cette somme pourrait permettre de former un grand nombre de policiers de premi\u00e8re ligne pour patrouiller les rues et veiller \u00e0 la protection des Canadiens car, en fin de compte, c&#8217;est l&#8217;objectif vis\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Le NPD et les d\u00e9put\u00e9s de l&#8217;opposition ne cessent de voter contre ces policiers de premi\u00e8re ligne.
