C&#8217;est la troisi\u00e8me fois qu&#8217;Elizabeth May pr\u00e9sente une l\u00e9gislation verte qui devient loi. Les deux projets de loi verts qui sont d\u00e9j\u00e0 devenus loi agissent sur la menace de la maladie de Lyme et interdisent la d\u00e9tention de baleines et de dauphins en captivit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Le projet de loi avait \u00e9t\u00e9 initialement pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 lors de la l\u00e9gislature pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente par l\u2019ex-d\u00e9put\u00e9e lib\u00e9rale Lenore Zann. Le projet de loi est mort au Feuilleton en raison des \u00e9lections de 2021. Elizabeth May a d\u00fb repartir de z\u00e9ro, pr\u00e9sentant le projet de loi il y a plus d&#8217;un an.<\/p>\n<p>Le projet de loi aborde la question du racisme environnemental. Depuis 1994, l\u2019Agence de Protection de l\u2019Environnement des \u00c9tats-Unis a mis en place un important programme de justice environnementale. Il est clair que les membres des Premi\u00e8res nations et les Canadiens racialis\u00e9s et \u00e0 faible revenu sont beaucoup plus expos\u00e9s \u00e0 la pollution et aux d\u00e9charges de d\u00e9chets toxiques que les communaut\u00e9s blanches et riches.<\/p>\n<p>Le projet de loi est maintenant transf\u00e9r\u00e9 au S\u00e9nat o\u00f9 la docteure Mary Jane McCallum (Femme autochtone d\u2019h\u00e9ritage cri, s\u00e9natrice non affili\u00e9e, Manitoba) chapeautera le projet de loi tout au long du processus. Un vaste r\u00e9seau d&#8217;ONG appuie le projet de loi, incluant l&#8217;\u00e9minente universitaire Dre Ingrid Waldron et son r\u00e9seau \u00ab ENRICH \u00bb, tout comme le r\u00e9seau national de solidarit\u00e9 avec Kanehsat\u00e0:ke qui s&#8217;occupe du d\u00e9versement ill\u00e9gal de d\u00e9chets toxiques sur ce territoire Mohawk, la Fondation David Suzuki, l&#8217;Association canadienne des m\u00e9decins pour l&#8217;Environnement, l\u2019organisme D\u00e9fense Environnementale, et Amnesty International, entre autres.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"MP May addresses
