Je prends la parole aujourd’hui pour rappeler que, il y aura 23 ans la semaine prochaine, se tenait la premi\u00e8re conf\u00e9rence scientifique mondiale sur la menace des changements climatiques, parrain\u00e9e par le Canada. Nous \u00e9tions fiers de voir le premier ministre canadien ouvrir cette conf\u00e9rence. Les scientifiques invit\u00e9s avaient fait la d\u00e9claration suivante:<\/p>\n

L’humanit\u00e9 se livre sans frein \u00e0 une exp\u00e9rience inconsciente qui touche l’ensemble du globe et dont les cons\u00e9quences d\u00e9finitives ne le c\u00e9deraient en rien sinon \u00e0 une guerre nucl\u00e9aire mondiale. <\/p>\n

Depuis, le signal d\u2019alarme lanc\u00e9 par ces scientifiques concernant la disparition des calottes glaci\u00e8res, le retrait des glaciers ou le nombre accru d’inondations et d’incendies ne rel\u00e8ve plus du futur. Ces avertissements font maintenant partie de notre quotidien, comme en t\u00e9moignent nos journaux. <\/p>\n

Il est grand temps de r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir aux avertissements des scientifiques afin de r\u00e9investir dans leurs efforts et de s’assurer que le Canada joue, une fois de plus, un r\u00f4le de chef de file mondial dans la lutte pour la r\u00e9duction des \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre et la protection de notre pays.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
