Je viens moi-m\u00eame d&#8217;une r\u00e9gion rurale. Ce qui nous pr\u00e9occupe davantage dans le dossier de Postes Canada, c&#8217;est de savoir si le gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral compte vraiment maintenir un service public dans toutes les r\u00e9gions du pays.<\/p>\n<p>Postes Canada a perdu certaines de ses divisions les plus rentables au profit de compagnies comme UPS et FedEx. Je pense que le d\u00e9bat sur le projet de loi de retour au travail pourrait s&#8217;\u00e9lever au niveau d&#8217;une analyse. Comment prot\u00e9ger Postes Canada? Comment veiller \u00e0 ce que cette soci\u00e9t\u00e9 demeure publique? Comment assurer le service dans les r\u00e9gions rurales?<\/p>\n<p>Ne pouvons-nous pas atteindre un compromis en nous entendant sur un projet de loi de retour au travail qui ne mine pas les droits des travailleurs qui appartiennent \u00e0 ce grand syndicat?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Larry Miller : <\/strong>Monsieur le Pr\u00e9sident, je pense que moi et la d\u00e9put\u00e9e, qui est venue dans ma circonscription \u00e0 quelques reprises, avons un point en commun: nous nous soucions de ces travailleurs. Aujourd\u2019hui, ils ne touchent aucun salaire en raison du lock-out, mais, au d\u00e9but, ils faisaient des gr\u00e8ves tournantes. Encore une fois, je ne prendrai pas parti, mais tant le syndicat que le patronat ont leurs torts et la situation a d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9. Nous allons leur dire de s\u2019asseoir \u00e0 la table de n\u00e9gociation pour r\u00e9gler le conflit.<\/p>\n<p>La d\u00e9put\u00e9e parle de pr\u00e9server la livraison du courrier en r\u00e9gions rurales. Je n\u2019ai cess\u00e9 de me battre pour sauver les services postaux en r\u00e9gions rurales depuis que je si\u00e8ge \u00e0 la Chambre des communes, soit depuis sept ans. Les employ\u00e9s, cadres et non cadres, de Postes Canada, devraient comprendre que l\u2019arr\u00eat de travail et les gr\u00e8ves tournantes, tout le bataclan, nuiront \u00e0 long terme \u00e0 la viabilit\u00e9 de la livraison du courrier en r\u00e9gions rurales. Si je suis en faveur d\u2019un retour au travail de ces employ\u00e9s, c\u2019est surtout pour que les entreprises et les \u00e9lecteurs de ma circonscription n\u2019aient pas \u00e0 en souffrir plus
