{"id":6345,"date":"2012-09-12T14:06:36","date_gmt":"2012-09-12T18:06:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elizabethmaymp.ca?p=6345"},"modified":"2021-02-03T11:00:39","modified_gmt":"2021-02-03T16:00:39","slug":"the-edmonton-vancouver-pipeline-expansion-should-be-stopped","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elizabethmaymp.ca\/fr\/the-edmonton-vancouver-pipeline-expansion-should-be-stopped\/","title":{"rendered":"Non au doublement du pipeline Edmonton-Vancouver"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Les dirigeants des partis verts municipal, provincial et f\u00e9d\u00e9ral tenaient une conf\u00e9rence de presse aujourd\u2019hui \u00e0 Vancouver pour d\u00e9noncer le projet de doublement du pipeline Trans Mountain ULC de Kinder Morgan sur 1150 kilom\u00e8tres entre Edmonton, Alberta, et Burnaby, Colombie-Britannique.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Elizabeth May<\/strong>, d\u00e9put\u00e9e de Saanich\u2014Gulf Islands et chef du Parti vert du Canada, <strong>Jane Sterk<\/strong>, chef du Parti vert de la Colombie-Britannique, et <strong>Adriane Carr<\/strong>, conseill\u00e8re municipale de Vancouver pour le Parti vert de Vancouver ainsi que chef adjointe du Parti vert du Canada, \u00e9taient r\u00e9unies aujourd\u2019hui pour dire \u00ab non \u00bb au projet de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 texane Kinder Morgan, qui veut doubler le pipeline Trans Mountain entre Edmonton et Burnaby et accro\u00eetre sa capacit\u00e9 de 300 000 \u00e0850 000 barils de bitume dilu\u00e9 par jour.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Kinder Morgan veut pratiquement tripler la capacit\u00e9 de son pipeline. Ce projet constitue une menace pour l\u2019environnement, non seulement parce que la consommation de tout ce p\u00e9trole ne peut qu\u2019exacerber la crise climatique, mais \u00e9galement parce les risques de rupture de canalisation et de d\u00e9versement sont exag\u00e9r\u00e9ment \u00e9lev\u00e9s \u00bb,a dit Elizabeth May.\u00ab Plus de 100 000 de p\u00e9trole brut l\u00e9ger ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9vers\u00e9s au terminal de Kinder Morgan \u00e0 Abbotsford, Colombie-Britannique, en janvierdernier.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab D\u00e8s la premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape de son projet d\u2019\u00e9largissement, Kinder Morgan invitait les acheteurs \u00e9trangers en possession de superp\u00e9troliers \u00e0 faire surench\u00e8re \u00e0 la derni\u00e8re raffinerie encore en activit\u00e9 dans le Lower Mainland, celle de Burnaby. Nous sommes si press\u00e9s d\u2019envoyer notre bitume non raffin\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger, en d\u00e9pit de tous les risques pour notre environnement, que nous sommes pr\u00eats \u00e0 appauvrir l\u2019\u00e9conomie locale \u00bb, a ajout\u00e9 May.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Ce projet est un relent de la &#8220;vieille \u00e9conomie&#8221; \u00bb, a rench\u00e9ri Jane Sterk. \u00ab Nous n\u2019avons pas besoin d\u2019ajouter au d\u00e9fil\u00e9 de superp\u00e9troliers qui encombrent le port de Vancouver. Il faut b\u00e2tir une nouvelle \u00e9conomie ax\u00e9e sur l\u2019\u00e9nergie renouvelable, qui permette de cr\u00e9er des emplois de qualit\u00e9, de prot\u00e9ger notre environnement et d\u2019assurer notre s\u00e9curit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique \u00e0 long terme. Voil\u00e0 ce qu\u2019il nous faut. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Comme conseill\u00e8re pour Vancouver, j\u2019ai longtemps milit\u00e9 pour que la Ville fasse preuve de leadership dans l\u2019opposition au projet de doublement du pipeline de Kinder Morgan \u00bb, a ajout\u00e9 Adrianne Carr. \u00ab Notre ville souhaite que les administrations provinciales et f\u00e9d\u00e9rales, charg\u00e9es de prendre une d\u00e9cision sur le projet de Kinder Morgan, s\u2019engagent plus \u00e0 fond. \u00c0 ce jour, seul le Parti vert l\u2019a fait en affirmant son opposition au projet de Kinder Morgan, aux trois niveaux politiques. J\u2019esp\u00e8re que cette sortie publiqueincitera le NPD et les lib\u00e9raux, qui ont jusqu\u2019\u00e0 maintenant \u00e9vit\u00e9 de prendre position de fa\u00e7on claire, \u00e0 embo\u00eeter le pas et \u00e0 dire &#8220;non&#8221; \u00e0 tous les projets de pipelines et de p\u00e9troliers qui menacent notre \u00e9conomie et notre environnement.
