Le Parti vert du Canada est inquiet des conclusions du rapport d\u00e9pos\u00e9 ce matin par le Commissaire \u00e0 l\u2019environnement et au d\u00e9veloppement durable.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Le Commissaire Vaughan nous dit que le gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral n\u2019est pas pr\u00eat \u00e0 intervenir si une mar\u00e9e noire survenait. Il pr\u00e9dit de plus une augmentation du nombre de p\u00e9troliers sur la C\u00f4te ouest : 1 800 nouveaux d\u00e9placements, incluant des superp\u00e9troliers \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 la chef du Parti vert du Canada et d\u00e9put\u00e9e de Saanich-Gulf Islands, Mme Elizabeth May.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Dans le contexte o\u00f9 les Conservateurs de Harper font tout pour favoriser l\u2019extraction de p\u00e9trole, le rapport du Commissaire est extr\u00eamement troublant \u00bb, a ajout\u00e9 Mme May.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Ajoutez \u00e0 cela le d\u00e9veloppement au ralenti d\u2019Aires marines prot\u00e9g\u00e9es, une autre constatation du rapport du Commissaire, et vous r\u00e9unissez tous les ingr\u00e9dients pour une catastrophe. La v\u00e9rification du Commissaire concerne surtout l\u2019Atlantique, o\u00f9 malgr\u00e9 des d\u00e9cennies de d\u00e9veloppement p\u00e9trolier et gazier extra c\u00f4tier, les offices f\u00e9d\u00e9raux ont toujours de la difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 mener une \u00e9valuation environnementale ou \u00e0 d\u00e9montrer leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 une mar\u00e9e noire.
