De concert avec trois autres anciens ministres des P\u00eaches, il a sign\u00e9 une lettre exprimant son opposition \u00e0 l\u2019approche du pr\u00e9sent gouvernement qui compromet les lois environnementales et affaiblit les mesures de protection de l\u2019habitat du poisson.<\/p>\n<p>Malgr\u00e9 tout le bien que je pense du d\u00e9put\u00e9 de West Vancouver\u2014Sunshine Coast\u2014Sea to Sky Country, je crois qu\u2019il se trompe du tout au tout au sujet de ce que son gouvernement et son parti font aux lois environnementales du Canada. Il est absolument abominable d\u2019assister \u00e0 la destruction de la Loi canadienne sur l\u2019\u00e9valuation environnementale et \u00e0 l\u2019affaiblissement de la Loi sur les p\u00eaches. Soit dit en passant, les mesures que le d\u00e9put\u00e9 consid\u00e8re comme positives ne figurent pas dans le projet de loi que nous discutons aujourd\u2019hui.<\/p>\n<p><strong>John Weston:<\/strong> Monsieur le Pr\u00e9sident, je crois que la d\u00e9put\u00e9e de Saanich\u2014Gulf Islands a fait une excellente contribution au d\u00e9bat. Il est \u00e9vident qu\u2019elle t\u00e9moigne de l\u2019importance qu\u2019il y a \u00e0 ce que notre gouvernement reste \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9coute.<\/p>\n<p>M. Fraser a certainement particip\u00e9 au d\u00e9bat et continuera \u00e0 le faire jusqu\u2019\u00e0 son dernier souffle. Il a fait quelques critiques tr\u00e8s constructives pour notre gouvernement.<\/p>\n<p>Je tiens \u00e0 f\u00e9liciter notre ministre de l\u2019Environnement et notre ministre des Finances pour l\u2019attention avec laquelle ils ont \u00e9cout\u00e9 ceux qui avaient quelque chose \u00e0 dire. C\u2019est pour cela que nous avons des dispositions aussi ing\u00e9nieuses dans le budget. Ce sont des dispositions qui refl\u00e8tent les besoins des Canadiens et qui, par exemple, pr\u00e9voient 10 millions de dollars pour former des partenariats avec des groupes de tous les coins du Canada. Ces groupes jouent un r\u00f4le tr\u00e8s important dans la protection de l\u2019habitat. Ils mobilisent les b\u00e9n\u00e9voles et comprennent les besoins pratiques du poisson et de l\u2019habitat.<\/p>\n<p>Notre gouvernement collaborera avec ces gens afin de prot\u00e9ger l\u2019habitat et de produire un environnement qui sera non seulement sain, mais meilleur que celui que nous avons h\u00e9rit\u00e9.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Elizabeth May : Monsieur le
