Je veux lui faire remarquer, comme je l&#8217;ai soulign\u00e9 au d\u00e9put\u00e9 de West Vancouver\u2014Sunshine Coast\u2014Sea to Sky Country, qu&#8217;il ne doit pas oublier que les progressistes-conservateurs John Fraser et Tom Siddon ont tous deux \u00e9t\u00e9 ministre des P\u00eaches et qu&#8217;ils ont tr\u00e8s fortement critiqu\u00e9 l&#8217;\u00e9visc\u00e9ration de la Loi sur les p\u00eaches dans le projet de loi C-38. Les modifications pr\u00e9vues dans le projet de loi C-38 ne m\u00e8neront ni \u00e0 une meilleure gestion des p\u00eaches ni \u00e0 une meilleure protection des habitats, et m\u00eame si nous nous r\u00e9jouissons de voir qu&#8217;un financement minime est allou\u00e9 \u00e0 de petites ONG dans le cadre de partenariats de conservation, c&#8217;est nettement insuffisant, \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 les coupes dans le domaine des sciences et de la protection des habitats.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Robert Sopuck :<\/strong> Monsieur le Pr\u00e9sident, j&#8217;appuie fermement les changements que le gouvernement a apport\u00e9s \u00e0 la Loi sur les p\u00eaches et aux lois environnementales.<\/p>\n<p>Nous avons \u00e9limin\u00e9 les d\u00e9doublements inutiles. La d\u00e9put\u00e9e et ses coll\u00e8gues d&#8217;en face ne semblent pas reconna\u00eetre que, de nos jours, les promoteurs de projets et les entreprises int\u00e8grent les meilleures normes environnementales qui soient \u00e0 leurs projets d\u00e8s le d\u00e9but. Les processus environnementaux n&#8217;ont pas vraiment jou\u00e9 de r\u00f4le \u00e0 cet \u00e9gard. L&#8217;environnement continuera de s&#8217;am\u00e9liorer gr\u00e2ce aux nouvelles lois environnementales mises de l&#8217;avant par notre gouvernement.
