UVic: Join Elizabeth May to rally for better accessibility on campus

Event Date:
20 January 2012 – 12:00pm

Come voice your support for greater accessibility on campus!

Featuring Elizabeth May and Miles Motture, University of Victoria law student

Where: University of Victoria Student Union Building
When: Friday, January 20, 12-1pm

The University of Victoria recently changed its housing admissions policy, so that disabled students who need to live on campus are no longer given priority for residence beds. This effectively excludes some from attending school, because accessible accommodation nearby is virtually non-existant. After two meetings with the executive in charge of Student Services, the University has not even put a discussion of this on its meetings agenda.

The UVic Society for Students with Disabilities has limited resources, so they need the help of the community to make this issue public. Please come and help, and bring signs! For more information, please contact Kimberlee Graham Knight by calling 250-858-8591 or emailing [email protected].
