Chag Sameach – Passover Statement

Craig Cantin — Tue, 26 Mar 2013 01:55:53 +0000

The Green Party of Canada wishes a happy holiday to everyone around the world celebrating Passover, which begins today at sundown.

Passover commemorates liberation from oppression, serving as a reminder of the importance of peace, freedom, perseverance and respect for diversity. Greens defend the right of all persons to belong to a society supportive of their dignity, health, and spiritual well-being. We join the Jewish Community in celebrating the blessings of a free society, while remembering those who are still not free from discrimination and persecution.

On behalf of Elizabeth May and the Green Party of Canada, Chag Sameach!

The Green Party of Canada wishes you L’Shana Tova as we celebrate Rosh Hashanah and G’mar Hatimah Tovah for the upcoming holiday of Yom Kippur on September 26th. “On these holiest Jewish holidays, we send greetings and good wishes for the New Year. These days are an opportunity to start anew, to seek forgiveness and to make changes to our behaviour, lessons that we all could benefit from,” said Elizabeth May, Member of Parliament for Saanich-Gulf Islands and Green Party Leader.
