The federal government is launching its annual New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) community-based stream 2024-2025 Call for Proposals on August 1st, 2024.

Community based projects are volunteer-based and must:

    • Address one or more program objectives;
    • Be local projects that have support from the community;
    • Be led or inspired by seniors.

The government has identified the following national priorities for these projects:

      • 1) Supporting healthy aging;
      • 2) Preventing senior abuse;
      • 3) Celebrating diversity and promoting inclusion;
      • 4) Supporting financial security

Projects are funded via annual grants to support senior-led or inspired organizations to a maximum of $25,000 and are distributed to communities across the country.

Organisations can apply for funding until September 12. Projects are eligible to receive up to $25,000. This link provides additional information about this exciting opportunity and will update to include application information as of August 1st: New Horizons for Seniors Program – Canada.ca.
