OTTAWA – February 20 marks World Day of Social Justice.
“The issues facing humanity around climate change are inextricably woven into issues of social justice,” said Green Party of Canada Leader, Elizabeth May (MP, Saanich-Gulf Islands).
“As Canadians face a growing surge of climate-related impacts to their communities from wildfires, flooding, tornadoes and drought, we must plan ahead. The Green Party is working towards eliminating poverty, lowering health care costs and creating sustainable employment across the country.”
“I urge all Canadians to reflect on the issues of social justice in their communities and throughout society, to speak out against racism, religious discrimination, gender inequality, ageism and disability, and to work towards creating equal opportunities for all,” stated Ms May.
