Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada and Member of Parliament for Saanich-Gulf Islands, stood with Libby Davies (Member of Parliament for Vancouver East) and the Honourable Wayne Easter (Member of Parliament for Malpeque and former Solicitor General) in support of Jodie Emery’s attempt to have her husband, Marc, return to Canada from an American prison to serve out the rest of his sentence.

Marc was arrested in 2005 as a result of an undercover investigation of his online marijuana seed-selling business. In 2009, Emery entered into a plea bargain with American authorities that saw him thrown in a U.S. jail for distributing marijuana seeds.
The Green Party has long condemned the decision to extradite Marc Emery from Canada in 2010, and looks forward to his return to Canada.
