There was no fuss or fanfare when Environment Minister Peter Kent tabled the final report on Canada’s Kyoto Protocol progress in the House on Commons on Monday.
After all, the goals were far from achieved, and there is no love lost between the Harper government and the international agreement. This sentiment shines through in the annual spring report.
The government’s final word on Kyoto is “pathetic,” Green party leader Elizabeth May said. When Canada signed onto the accord, expectations were much higher for the year 2012.
