Salt Spring Island Firehall Ground Blessing

Please join Elizabeth and Salt Spring Island Fire Rescue on October 30 from 3:30-5:30pm PT. Elizabeth and others will deliver remarks to celebrate the start of construction on Salt Spring’s new fire hall, which is expected to be completed by Fall 2025

The schedule is as follows:

3pm – Arrive at the legion, park vehicles, and walk over to the site, 5 minutes away, across from Foxglove and next to Kutatas winery.

3:30pm – Event begins, introductions by Fire Board Chair Rollie Cook and CAO Rodney Dieleman, followed by a Cowichan First Nations welcome (Maiya Modeste) and blessing dance.

Speeches by Fire Chief Holmes, MP May, and CRD Director Gary Holman.

4:00pm – Retire to the Legion Branch 92 for refreshments and snacks.

5:30pm – Event formally concludes.
