COP26 has been described as “the world’s best last chance” to tackle the climate crisis. The UBC Sustainability Initiative, Sierra Club BC, and West Coast Environmental Law are proud to present ‘What’s at Stake?’

Join us to hear how climate negotiations really work from the people who’ve been there before, and find out what’s at stake for communities in BC, Canada, and across the world. With political, scientific and legal expertise, panelists will describe what they hope to see from COP26, and what will happen if it fails to deliver.

About the panelists

Elizabeth May is the current Parliamentary Leader of the Green Party of Canada, Member of Parliament representing the southern Vancouver Island riding of Saanich-Gulf Islands on the territory of the W̱SÁNEĆ Nation. Green Party of Canada.

Anjali Appadurai is a Climate Justice Campaigner at Sierra Club BC.

Rachel White is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of British Columbia.

Andrew Gage is a Staff Lawyer at West Coast Environmental Law.

Linda Nowlan is the Senior Director of the UBC Sustainability Initiative, and an Adjunct Professor at the Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia.
