Today is Elizabeth May’s 60th Birthday. The Leader of the Green Party of Canada, Member of Parliament for Saanich–Gulf Islands, Officer of the Order of Canada, and Canada’s Hardest-Working MP two years in a row today celebrates a lifetime of service at the forefront of Canada’s environmental movement.
“Elizabeth is truly an inspiration to all of us,” said Paul Estrin, President of the Green Party of Canada. “Her wisdom, leadership and vision are exactly what our democracy needs right now to restore Canadians’ faith in politics, and I wish her all the very best on this important milestone.”
“Elizabeth and I can now add being in our sixties to the long list of things that we have in common,” said Bruce Hyer, Green Deputy Leader and Member of Parliament for Thunder Bay–Superior North. “It is truly an honour to serve alongside her in the House of Commons, and I wish her a very happy birthday.”
Friends and supporters are encouraged to share their best wishes for Elizabeth’s birthday on the Green Party’s e-card, which currently includes birthday greetings from such luminaries as Bill Clinton, Brian Mulroney, Paul Martin, David Suzuki, Maude Barlow, and Raffi.
