Please read the following statement from Elizabeth May, MP Elect for Saanich—Gulf Islands, recognising the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia:
”I am proud to stand in allyship with 2SLGBTQ+ Canadians every day. Despite facing increased discrimination and violence, this community continues to fight back. As we enter a new Parliament, I want to reaffirm my commitment to advocating for queer and trans rights in Canada. Ensuring basic human rights for all is not up for negotiation. We must never allow hate and misinformation to turn us against each other.”
