Statement on International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia

Please read the following statement from Elizabeth May, MP for Saanich–Gulf Islands and Leader of the Green Party of Canada, recognising International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia:

“International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia is a time where we reaffirm our commitment to 2SLGBTQ+ rights. This community is facing persecution across Canada and around the world. Attacks on transgender and non-binary individuals are on the rise, with some politicians actively seeking to delegitimise their identities or brand them as dangerous. Allies need to stand against hate and misinformation that threatens the gains this community has spent decades fighting for. I am so proud to stand in solidarity with this community!”
