Please read the following statement from Elizabeth May, MP for Saanich–Gulf Islands and Leader of the Green Party of Canada, recognising the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People:
“Today is the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. We mourn the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians – women, men, children and infants – who have been killed since October 7, 2023. We stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine who have endured daily abuses of their basic human rights for far too long.
We recommit to work to a peaceful resolution- a two-party solution in which Palestinian statehood is a reality, the occupation is over and the peoples of Israel and Palestine can live in peace and harmony.”
