Please read the following statement from Elizabeth May, MP for Saanich–Gulf Islands and Leader of the Green Party of Canada, recognising the International Day of UN Peacekeepers:
“On this International Day of UN Peacekeepers, I want to pay tribute to all those who have lost their lives standing up for peace and freedom. Peacekeepers address the root causes of conflict, supporting sustainable development around the world. Canadians are proud of our record on peacekeeping and it must remain a priority in the new parliament. Thank you peacekeepers!”
