Please read the following statement from Elizabeth May recognising Vimy Ridge Day:
“Canadians will always be there with our allies to fight for democracy and peace. The 1917 Battle of Vimy Ridge was monumental in the First World War. This was also the first time all four divisions of the Canadian Expeditionary Force fought together, showing the strength of Canadians when we are unified. On this Vimy Ridge Day, we remember and honour the 3598 Canadians who made the ultimate sacrifice and never came home. Thank you to all those who defended our freedoms at Vimy Ridge.”
