The World Meteorological Organization says the past decade was the hottest on record. So it’s fitting that climate talks are taking place right now in Durban, South Africa. But with Canada saying that it’s pulling out of Kyoto, what does the future of international climate agreements look like? Is this the end for a cooperative solution? Or does this pave the way for a new agreement? And do we have an obligation to set an example and reduce our own emissions, even if other countries are hesitant to do so?
