Please read the following statement from Elizabeth May, MP for Saanich–Gulf Islands and Leader of the Green Party of Canada, recognising Remembrance Day:
“I will be attending the Remembrance Day ceremony this morning at the cenotaph at Saanich Municipal Hall. Around the world, conflicts and wars continue to claim lives and tear communities apart. Today we thank our veterans and honour all those who made the ultimate sacrifice and never returned home. As we mourn those lost in combat, we must work ever harder for peace. Lest we forget.”
