Please read the following statement from Elizabeth May, MP for Saanich—Gulf Islands and Leader of the Green Party of Canada, recognising the 80th anniversary of the signing of the United Nations Charter:
”This week marks the anniversary of the signing of the United Nations Charter. The United Nations is a global beacon for justice, environmental action and human rights. The federal government must put forward a climate action plan that will enable us to still meet our Paris Agreement commitments. I am grateful for United Nations. For all its faults, without it, the world would be much less secure.”
