Please read the following statement from Elizabeth May, MP for Saanich–Gulf Islands and Leader of the Green Party of Canada, recognising World Autism Awareness Day:
“Today is World Autism Awareness Day! One of the first pieces of legislation I was proud to support as a Member of Parliament was the 2012 World Autism Awareness Day Act. Although there is broad consensus that people on the autism spectrum and their loved ones need and deserve more support than what is currently offered, the government still has much work to do to address challenges facing this community. This question I asked to the Prime Minister back in 2017 remains relevant.”
