Week in review Feb 28 – March 4

On Monday, MPs engaged in a take-note debate until midnight to discuss the war on Ukraine. During one of the last slots of the night, at 11:30 pm, Elizabeth gave a speech discussing the nature of the threat and the historical moment we find ourselves in.

In a statement, in the context of the latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Elizabeth quoted Svitlana Krakovska, head scientist from Ukraine heading the Ukraine delegation to the IPCC. Dr. Krakovska said that climate change and the war have the same root cause: fossil fuels and our dependence upon them.
