OTTAWA – Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada and MP (Saanich – Gulf Islands), issued the following statement on Ramadan:
“Today marks the first day of the holy month of Ramadan. For Muslims, Ramadan is a time of reflection, empathy, and prayer. It is also an opportunity for communities, friends, and families to come together.
“The month of Ramadan reminds us that we live in a country that celebrates diversity.
“On behalf of the Green Party, I wish all Muslims peace and happiness. Ramadan Kareem.”
