Please read the following statement from Elizabeth May, MP for Saanich–Gulf Islands and Leader of the Green Party of Canada, celebrating 13 years since she was first elected in 2011 as the Green Party’s first-ever Member of Parliament to represent Saanich–Gulf Islands:
“How quickly 13 years fly by! I am deeply indebted to the people of Saanich–Gulf Islands who have placed their trust in me as their MP since 2011. It is the honour of lifetime to serve in Parliament and to raise crucial and often neglected issues on behalf of my constituents and all Canadians.
